In August, 2011, I was surprised to discover a Mayflower ancestor, not from my mother's side -- the English bluebloods -- but from my father's side, the Scots-Irish farmers (who married English bluebloods apparently!). Edward Fuller was my ninth great grandfather.

In April, 2011, a "chance" meeting led to a great breakthrough on the Campbell family. Many thanks to Nancy Smith of Peru, NY, whom I met at the New England Regional Genealogical Society Conference in Springfield. Nancy has helped significantly in adding information about Argyle Campbell's parents, Alexander Campbell and Elizabeth Williams Hay Campbell.

In the summer of 2009, we spent five weeks in Scotland. DNA research confirms my Campbell line came from Argyleshire 20 generations ago, but which is our line of descent? When we visited Kilmartin, Dunadd and Loch Awe we imagined this was home for my ancestors. I'm continuing to look at Barcaldine and Breadalbane but realize it's likely necessary to find the right Alexander on this side of the Atlantic. Might he have been the immigrant by way of Canada? We'll see.

Previous research trips have taken me to Callaway County, Missouri, for McCall connections, and to Worcester County, Massachusetts to further explore Brierly and Warren cousins. I've borrowed and copied hundreds of pages of others' paper files, as well as family trees, artifacts and many photos.
